Description of Procedure: Install a wiper arm

Units Affected: 2017 CAB MODELS WITH OVERHEAD WIPER SYSTEM

Parts Required: LOCTITE 242 (OR EQUIVALENT) 005612 (QTY 1)

Tools Required: tORQUE WRENCH WITH THE CAPABILITIES OF TIGHTENING BOTH 27 mm AND 13 mm NUTS

NOTE: IF A SOCKET IS USED, BOTH SIZES NEED TO BE DEEP WELL STYLE.

Planned Labor: 35-40 Mins

Instructions:

1. Park the vehicle on a flat surface and apply the parking brake and chock wheels. If your company utilizes a “Lock Out, Tag Out” policy, you should employ it during this procedure.

   ---

REFER TO SECTION VIEW “A”.

2. Torque the two (2) 27 mm nuts to 20 N-m (177 in-lbs).

3. Torque the four (4) 13 mm nuts to 18 N-m (159 in-lbs).

4. After 30 minutes, remove the four (4) 13 mm nuts and add LOCTITE 242 to the threaded studs; reinstall the nuts and retorque them to 18 N-m (159 in-lbs).

5. Remove “Lock Out, Tag Out” plaque.

6. Return vehicle to service.
