TICO Document #: SFN-20231006D (formerly TES 201)
Description of Procedure: Install the hydraulic filter and gasket to the filter head assembly mounted to the hydraulic tank
Parts Required:
FILTER HYDRAULIC 60556-1
GASKET 1026037
Instructions:
Park the vehicle on a flat surface, apply a parking brake, and chock wheels. If your company utilizes a “Lock Out, Tag Out” policy, you should employ it during this procedure.
Close the hydraulic shut-off valves to isolate the filter and any residual pressure in the hydraulic lines.
With the appropriate filter wrench, remove the hydraulic filter from the filter head assembly. A picture of the bottom of the filter head assembly is shown in Figure #3.
Be sure to use a receptacle to catch any hydraulic fluid that leaks from the system as the hydraulic filter is removed from the filter head assembly.
Once the existing filter is removed, replace it with a new filter (P/N: 60556-1), as shown in Figure #1.
WARNING: Do not use the gasket that is packaged with the filter itself. This gasket will not seal properly to the filter head assembly and will cause a failure of the filter itself during operation. Review the differences in Figures #4 and #5.
Discard the gasket packaged with the filter and install the new gasket (p/n: 1026037) which has been designed to meet the installation requirements of the filter head assembly.
With the appropriate filter wrench, install the new hydraulic filter with gasket to the filter head assembly.
Open the hydraulic shut-off valves to allow flow into the filter and the hydraulic tank.
Start the vehicle and inspect the connection of the filter head to the filter for signs of leakage.
Remove “Lock Out, Tag Out” plaque.
Return vehicle to service.
