Description of Procedure: Rework the B6.7N CNG cab protection bar and install jumper harnesses for the aftertreatment sensors

Units Affected: B6.7N CNG engines that were shipped on or before 07/17/18. This rework is required based on Cummins IQA approval.

Parts Required: B6.7N AFTERTREATMENT SENSOR JUMPER WIRES 920452 (QTY 1)

Planned Labor: 1 hour


Instructions:

  1. Park vehicle on flat surface, apply parking brake, and chock wheels. If your company utilizes a “Lock Out, Tag Out” policy, you should employ it during this procedure.


  2. Remove the heat shield in front of the aftertreatment device mounted on the right side of the cab protection bar.


  1. Locate and disconnect the aftertreatment sensors from the OEM’s harness. There are a total of three (3) sensors on the aftertreatment.

  2. Install the three (3) jumper harnesses to their appropriate connectors on the aftertreatment and the OEM harness.


  1. Install the 3/8” diameter heat reflective sleeve to the jumper harness wires.

  2. Install the 1” diameter heat reflective sleeve to the jumper harness connectors.

  3. Install zip ties to each end of the 1” diameter heat reflective sleeves to secure sleeve to connectors.


  1. Rework the cab protection bar as specified on drawing #SK0307.


  1. Using the p clamps and hardware provided, route the wires as shown in the image to the right.

  • Wires and connectors should maintain at least 1” of clearance from the aftertreatment.

  • Minimum bend radius of wires is 20mm.


  1. Reinstall heat shield onto the cab protection bar.


  1. Remove “Lock Out, Tag Out” plaque.


  1. Return vehicle to service.
