Complication: There is water intrusion in the air cleaner housing due to a path into the air cleaner via the air cleaner cover.
Description of Procedure: Replace the current air cleaner cover with and upgraded watertight cover
Units Affected: All units with a Donaldson Powercore PDC10 series air filter shipped between 10/13/18 to 10/13/19
Parts Required: COVER, WATERTIGHT, AIR FILTER, donaldson, PCD10 621162
Planned Labor: 5 minutes
This upgraded watertight cover can be used with any Tico tractor that uses the Donaldson Powercore PDC10 series air filter. See Figures #7 and #8.
Instructions:
Park the vehicle on a flat surface, apply a parking brake, and chock wheels. If your company utilizes a “Lock Out, Tag Out” policy, you should employ it during this procedure.
Locate the air cleaner. It is mounted between the exhaust system and the right–hand side fender. See Figure #1.
Open the air cleaner cover and inspect the air filter(s). See Figure #2.
Inspect the primary and secondary air filters (See Figures #3 and #4) and, based on what you observe, follow the instructions in the table below.

CLEAN: Re-install and close the air cleaner cover. Proceed to step 5. |

DIRTY: Replace the air cleaner(s) per your company’s preventative maintenance procedures. Install new air filter(s) and close the air cleaner cover. Proceed to step 5. |
Once the pre-cleaner, if so equipped, and air filter element themselves are re-inserted, install the new upgraded air cleaner filter cover p/n: 621162, on the air filter housing. Use the housing service clips to secure it to the air cleaner housing. See Figure #6.
The previous air cleaner cover can be discarded.
Remove “Lock Out, Tag Out” plaque.
Return vehicle to service.
