Engine Faults related to Telematics Device
(Cheat sheet)
Failure Mode | Indicator | Additional notes |
Telematics Device: Firmware Update Applied Successfully | Fault Code = 132 | Device Firmware received the expected/indicated version. |
Telematics device fault: all power removed - device restarted | Fault Code = 130 | Device stopped getting any power from the vehicle/asset. It then restarted after regaining power. |
Telematics device fault: low voltage in power supply (bad battery or reinstall required- Device restarted | Fault Code = 131 | Check vehicle/assetβs battery voltage, ensure the connection is solid, and check if the device is getting power (at least the red light comes on). |
Telematics device fault: telematics device has been unplugged | Fault Code = 136 | Device was unplugged from the vehicle/asset. No power reached the device until this message was reported. |
Warning: vehicle battery has low voltage | Fault Code = 135 | Check vehicle/assetβs battery voltage, ensure the connection is solid, and check if the device is getting power (at least the red light comes on). |
Telematics device fault GPS quality poor (bad device install or vehicle undercover) | Fault Code = 139 | Please check the device and follow the troubleshooting clock to see if the blue light comes on the device. |
ALERT: Accident limit for acceleration exceeded | Fault Code = 166 | Related to possible collision or loose/weak connection from the GO device to the vehicle/asset. |
Telematics device fault: remove device and report to reseller - GPS module not responding | Fault Code = 140 | Contact Support |
Telematics device fault: remove device and report to reseller - GPS antenna unplugged | Fault Code = 145 | Contact Support |
Telematics device fault: problem communicating with engine - potential bad install - harness issue or device failure - CAN mode failed during normal operation | Fault Code = 147 | Please check the device install and ensure it is secured with all needed zip ties. The red light must be turned on when starting the vehicle/asset. All three lights must eventually light up. |
Excessive accelerometer events | Fault Code = 172 | Please check the device install and ensure it is secured with all needed zip ties. The red light must be turned on when starting the vehicle/asset. All three lights must eventually light up. |
Excessive accelerometer events over accident threshold | Fault Code = 174 | Please check the device install and ensure it is secured with all needed zip ties. The red light must be turned on when starting the vehicle/asset. All three lights must eventually light up. |
Low priority warning light on | Fault Code = 175 | The fault read from the vehicle is a low priority and not critical. For more information, please use an oο¬cial Scantool/Diagnosis machine from the manufacturer. |
Fault - variable length data logging turned off due to excessive data | Fault Code = 478 | Please check the device install and ensure it is secured with all needed zip ties. The red light must be turned on when starting the vehicle/asset. All three lights must eventually light up. |
Fault - engine hours stale | Fault Code = 466 | The fault read from the vehicle is related to the ECU not transmitting Engine hours info. There is nothing to be done but for more information, please use an oο¬cial Scantool/Diagnosis machine from the manufacturer. |
Telematics device fault: check device install - accelerometer disabled due to excessive data | Fault Code = 265 | Please check the device install and ensure it is secured with all needed zip ties. The red light must be turned on when starting the vehicle/asset. All three lights must eventually light up. |
Accelerometer calibration in progress (more driving required) | Fault Code = 281 | Device is still ο¬guring out how it is oriented inside the vehicle/asset, for axis assignment (x, y, z). |
Telematics device fault: problem communicating with engine - potential bad install - harness issue or device failure - excessive errors detected on the CAN BUS and it is now in only listen mode | Fault Code = 287 | Please check the device install and ensure it is secured with all needed zip ties. The red light must be turned on when starting the vehicle/asset. All three lights must eventually light up. |
Telematics device fault low voltage in power supply (bad battery or reinstall required) Device restarted | Fault Code = 290 | Check the vehicle battery and ensure the device is getting power (red light comes on). |
Proprietary OEM fault, description unavailable | Fault Code = 491 | The fault read from the vehicle is not a standard one. For more information, please use an oο¬cial Scantool/Diagnosis machine from the manufacturer. |
