Description of Procedure: Procedure for replacing the cartridge for Prince Solenoids
Parts Required: X2 Solenoids = TSP6216201, X2 Cartridges = TSP6216202
Tools Needed: 3/4” Wrench - Torque wrench capable of accurately tightening to 10-12ft-lb and 30-50in-lb -3/4” socket or open-ended attachment to be used with torque wrench.
Instructions:
Park vehicle on flat surface, apply parking brake, and chock wheels. Proceed with the “Lock Out, Tag Out” policy.
Remove nut from solenoid cartridge using the 3/4” wrench.

Remove the solenoid coil.

Unthread the solenoid cartridge using the 3/4” wrench. When loosened fully, remove from cavity. Check filter screen at bottom if cartridge for debris.

Put the new solenoid cartridge back into the cavity then thread it into place. Check for nicks, lube with ATF, torque the cartridge to 10-12ft-lb.
Put the solenoid coil onto the new solenoid cartridge.
Place the nut back onto the solenoid cartridge and start to torque by hand. The nut is made out of aluminum and needs to be started by hand, or it will become cross threaded.
Torque the coil nut to 30-50in-lb.

Remove “Lock Out, Tag Out” plaque.
Return vehicle to service.
