TICO EV – Low Coolant in Lower Left Reservoir: Procedure for Diagnosis and Correction

Symptoms & Concerns

  • Low coolant level in the bottom right reservoir, but no visible coolant leaks.

  • Yellow triangle warning appears on the display with no Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

  • Vent blower functions, but no heat is produced.

Cause

  • The vent blower switch is OFF, but the temperature dial is set to any position in the red (hot) zone.

  • This causes the heater and pump to run without air circulation, leading to:

    • Overheating

    • Increased pressure

    • Coolant expulsion from the reservoir cap due to overpressure.

Correction

The temperature dial MUST be turned to the coldest setting if the vent blower switch is in the “OFF Position”. This is the only way for the heater to be fully turned OFF.
