TICO EV – Low Coolant in Lower Left Reservoir: Procedure for Diagnosis and Correction

Symptoms & Concerns

  • Low coolant level in the bottom right reservoir, but no visible coolant leaks.

  • Yellow triangle warning appears on the display with no Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

  • Vent blower functions, but no heat is produced.

Cause

  • The vent blower switch is OFF, but the temperature dial is set to any position in the red (hot) zone.

  • This causes the heater and pump to run without air circulation, leading to:

    • Overheating

    • Increased pressure

    • Coolant expulsion from the reservoir cap due to overpressure.

Correction

The temperature dial MUST be turned to the coldest setting if the vent blower switch is in the β€œOFF Position”. This is the only way for the heater to be fully turned OFF.
