TICO Document #: SFN-20240104C (formerly TES 185)
Description of Procedure: TO HAVE THE CENTER PIN OF TRAILER BOX (TRAILER ABS POWER) TO BE SWITCHED BY KEY (IGNITION). THESE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDE THE PROCEDURES TO REVISE THE TRAILER ABS POWER TO IGNITION.
Units Affected: S/N 4506-4524, 4967-5006, 5009-5034 CNG
Parts Required: TICO HARNESS #12 SPLICE, HEAT SHRINK. 621037 (QTY 1)
Planned Labor: 1 hour
NOTE: THIS PROCEDURE ILLUSTRATE HOW TO RE-WORK THE OLD CAB PSCNG TRANS MOUNT PDC BOX FROM BATTERY OPERATION, TO ALLOW THE ABS TO OPERATE USING IGNITION. THIS PROCEDURE APPLIES TO VEHICLES WITH THE OLD CAB DESIGN AND THE CHASSIS PDC SIDE MOUNTED ON THE WHEEL CHASSIS.
Instructions:
Park the vehicle on a flat surface, and apply the parking brake and chock wheels. If your company utilizes a “Lock Out, Tag Out” policy, you should employ it during this procedure.
Disconnect the main battery supply to the chassis PDC at the batteries.
Remove the cover from the chassis PDC.

Use harness 621037. Install the ring terminal to the output side of the ignition solenoid. Loosely install a nut on the solenoid.
Route the un-terminated end of the harness towards the fuse box along with the current “yellow” wire bundle. Remove the fuse box from the mount by un-mount by un-screwing (4) four screws that mount it.
Locate the “red” wire coming from the fuse holder going to splice labeled “SCT-2”.
NOTE: RED WIRE IS COMING FROM THE #3 CAVITY OF THE FUSE HOLDER
Cut red wire coming from the fuse holder cavity #3 at the splice.
Splice the cut red wire to the yellow wire routed from the solenoid (P/N 621037) and heat shrink.
Heat shrink splice and tape off the cut end of the splice (SCT-2) with black electrical tape.
Replace the fuse holder into the mount and tighten it down.
Re-work is complete. Route and tie up wires to avoid chafing. Replace the cover on the fuse holder. Tighten not at the solenoid.
Connect the chassis PDC battery supply cable to the batteries.
Re-install chassis PDC cover.
Verify correct operation.
Remove “Lock Out, Tag Out” plaque.
Return vehicle to service.
