Instructions:

  1. Park vehicle on flat surface, apply parking brake, and chock wheels. If your company utilizes a “Lock Out, Tag Out” policy, you should employ it during this procedure.

  2. Remove battery box cover and disconnect the black, ground battery cables (Figure 2). Remove batteries or insulate terminal ends with a non-conductive wrap to prevent inadvertent contact between battery terminals and cables.

  1. Remove (2) screws from the center of the power window panel (Figure 3).

  2. Discard this hardware, as replacement hardware is included in the service kit.

  1. Remove (4) screws from the rear of the black power window panel (Figure 4).

  2. Discard this hardware, as replacement hardware is included in the service kit.

  1. Remove (5) screws from the front of the black power window panel (Figure 5).

  2. Discard this hardware, as replacement hardware is included in the service kit.

  1. Remove the power window panel by gently lifting upward to disengage the tab (Figure 6a) while also rotating slightly in a counterclockwise direction (Figure 6b).

  1. Disconnect the power window harness from the backside of the rocker switch (Figure 7).

  2. Retain the power window panel and rocker switch, as it will be used later in the procedure.

  1. Carefully cut and remove (3) cable ties that were used to secure the power window harness (Figure 8).

  1. If the current power window assembly doesn’t have two lower support brackets, skip to page 13 of this procedure (Figures 9a, 9b). If it does, continue onto page 12.

  1. Remove (1) hex nut and (1) washer from each lower support bracket (Figures 10a, 10b).

  2. Discard this hardware, as replacement hardware is included in the service kit.

  1. Remove (1) screw, (1) washer, and (1) lock nut from each bottom corners of the power window (Figures 11a, 11b, 11c).

  2. Discard this hardware, as replacement hardware is included in the service kit.

  1. Remove the remaining (7) screws from the power window (Figure 12).

  2. Discard this hardware, as replacement hardware is included in the service kit.

  1. Remove the power window frame from inside the cab (Figures 13a, 13b).

  1. Gently pull outward and upward from the top of the power window assembly (Figure 14a).

  2. Rotate the power window assembly slightly clockwise and remove it from the cab (Figure 14b).

  3. Discard this power window assembly, as a replacement is included in the service kit.

  1. The new power window assembly is shown in Figure 15.

  1. Rotate the power window assembly slightly clockwise and slide it through the window opening into the cab (Figure 16a).

  2. Lower the power window assembly until the bottom edge is seated properly (Figure 16b).

  3. Push the power window assembly towards the cab until it is flush with the outside of the cab (Figure 16c).

  1. Reconnect the power window harness to the power window motor (Figure 17a).

  2. Secure the power window harness to the power window assembly using (3) 7” long cable ties P/N: 420437 (Figure 17b).

  1. From inside the cab, install the power window assembly frame onto the power window assembly (Figures 18a, 18b).

  1. Install (3) #10-32 UNF x 1” long screws P/N: 800447 into the top of the power window assembly and power window frame (Figure 19).

    • Note: Tighten securely, but do not overtighten to ensure the power window assembly and power window frame isn’t damaged.

  1. Install (2) #10-32 UNF x 1” long screws screws P/N: 800447 into the rear of the power window assembly and power window frame (Figure 20a).

  2. Install (1) #10-32 UNF x 1” long screw P/N: 800447, (1) #10 flat washer P/N: 80232, and (1) #10-32 UNF locknut P/N: 800424 into the bottom, rear of the power window assembly and power window frame (Figures 20b, 20c).

    • Note: Tighten securely, but do not overtighten to ensure the power window assembly and power window frame isn’t damaged.

  1. Install (2) #10-32 UNF x 1” long screws screws P/N: 800447 into the front of the power window assembly and power window frame (Figure 21a).

  2. Install (1) #10-32 UNF x 1” long screw P/N: 800447, (1) #10 flat washer P/N: 80232, and (1) #10-32 UNF locknut P/N: 800424 into the bottom, front corner of the power window assembly and power window frame (Figures 21b, 21c).

    • Note: Tighten securely, but do not overtighten to ensure the power window assembly and power window frame isn’t damaged.

  1. If there are (2) threaded studs already installed (Figures 22a, 22b), skip to page 28.

  2. If there aren’t any threaded studs installed, continue onto page 25.

  1. Temporarily place lower window support bracket over the studs as shown (Figure 23).

  2. Repeat this for the rear vertical side rail as well. Do not reinstall nuts at this time.

  1. Apply tape to the end of the 5/32” drill bit to a depth of 5/8”. This will be used as a guide for the depth hole needed in the cab (Figure 24a).

  2. Using the bracket as a drill guide, hold the bracket in place and drill the cab to the depth marked by the tape (Figure 24b). Once drilled, insert a pea-sized amount of Liquid Nails into this hole. Repeat for both the forward and rear vertical side rails. (Figure 24c)

    • Note: Both the forward and rear vertical side rails will have the bracket to the forward/front side of the side rails (Figure 24c). On the drill bit, replace any damaged tape to ensure drilling to the correct depth and DO NOT drill through the outside fiberglass skin.

  1. Use (1) threaded stud, (1) hex nut and (6) flat washers (Figure 25a) to drive this assembly into the previously drilled hole. Repeat for other side.

  2. Tighten the stud assembly but use caution to not strip-out the cab (Figure 25b).

  3. Add (1) hex nut and (1) flat washer and spin on by hand the full length of each stud (Figure 25c).

  1. Install both lower window support brackets. Install the previously removed locknuts, securely retighten. Use thread locker on threads, in the area shown by the arrow (Figure 26a).

  2. Install the remaining locknut and flat washer onto the threaded stud (Figure 26b). Adjust the inner and outer hex nuts to support the vertical side rail without bending the rail from top to bottom. Securely tighten both inner and outer nuts (Figure 26b). Repeat for other side.

  1. Reconnect the power window harness to the backside of the rocker switch (Figure 27).

  1. Reinstall the power window panel by hooking the tab (Figure 28a) into the power window assembly channel while also rotating slightly in a clockwise direction (Figure 28b).

  1. Ensure that the power window harness is properly routed through the notch in the power window panel (Figure 29).

  1. Install (2) #10-32 UNF x 1” long screws P/N: 800447 into the center of the power window panel (Figure 30).

    • Note: Tighten securely, but do not overtighten to ensure the power window panel isn’t damaged.

  1. Install (5) #10 x ½” long self-tapping screws P/N: 800429, into the front of the power window panel (Figure 31).

  1. Install (4) #10 x ½” long self-tapping screws P/N: 800429 into the rear of the power window panel (Figure 32).

  1. Apply clear silicone around the (2) vertical edges and (1) horizontal edge of the power window assembly (Figure 33). Wipe off the excess.

  1. Reconnect the black, ground battery cables (Figure 34).

  2. Apply dielectric grease to all battery terminals in the battery box, if none is present.

  1. Start the vehicle.

  1. Test the newly installed power window to ensure it moves up and down smoothly.

  1. Remove the wheel chocks.

  1. Remove “Lock Out, Tag Out” plaque.

  1. Return vehicle to service.
