Best Practice: Clearly establish roles and levels of access to the TICO EDGE Parts Catalog
There are three access tiers to the TICO EDGE Parts Catalog. You should ensure everyone within your dealership has proper access.
The three tiers are as follows:
Guest Access – Users may look up parts and parts books for tractors but cannot view pricing and availability. Guest access users do not require a registered user account to use the site.
Quote Only Access –The user may look up parts/parts books, access pricing and availability, and add parts to a quote. This type of user cannot place orders.
Full Access – Users may look up parts/parts books, have access to pricing and availability, can view purchase history for the account, can create quotes, and can place orders.
Best Practice: Searching by a TICO Frame Number, Machine Index (MI), VIN number is the most efficient way to search on the TICO Edge Parts Website
The difference between a Frame & VIN Number and a Machine Index is that the Frame Number and VIN are specific to one tractor, but the Machine Index can be specific to one or more tractors that were built to the same manufacturing standards.
When you don’t search by one of these three options and do a generic search in the main search bar, you could easily pull up many results that are not applicable, making it harder, and it will take longer to find your part. Stick to searching by Frame, VIN, And Machine Index.
Best Practice: Use the form under “Contact Us” to make any and all requests for support.
The “Contact Us” form enables the {{glossary.PDC}} to properly sort your question and get it to the right department to get you an answer as quickly as possible. In most instances, you should get a response back within minutes. This is the most effective to receive support for all of your parts needs.
Access and utilize vendor catalogs and support documentation available on TICO Knowledge.
Best Practice: Select “ship complete” when ordering assemblies.
When ordering an assembly with multiple parts, one part will normally be useless without the other. If this is the case, choosing to have the order ship when complete is the best practice for you and your dealership.
Note: If the tractor is down, you can select “unit down,” and TICO will ship the parts they do have and the rest when they receive them.
Best Practice: Add any notes plus the frame number or VIN number into the notes section when ordering parts.
It is a best practice to fill in any important notes about the tractor you are ordering parts for and include the Frame Number or VIN to communicate which tractor the parts are going to.
