TICO Partners,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the U.S. Clean Air Act, California Health & Safety Code, and Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999, as applicable.
TICO has launched a campaign that may affect your Unit DEF Fluid Tank. Due to a market shortage, Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) sensors were unavailable to replace faulty sensors in the field, and the engine software was temporarily modified to account for continued operation with a faulty sensor until replacement sensors were available. Vehicle performance, other engine components, or drivability are not affected. The DEF sensor is used to indicate how much DEF is left in the tank, DEF quality, and DEF temperature. Failure to measure accurate level, quality, and temperature may lead to emission concerns. This campaign will install an engine control module calibration as well as confirm and/or install a new DEF header. The software is available, and TICO certified dealer locations have instructions to repair your vehicle and parts (if applicable). The repair will be performed free of charge and take approximately 1 hours and 0 minutes to 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete depending on vehicle configuration.
California residents: The State of California may require the completion of emission campaign repairs prior to vehicle registration renewal. Your Authorized Tico Repair location will provide you with an Emission Campaign Proof of Correction Form after the campaign is performed. Be sure to save this form since the California Department of Motor Vehicles may require that you supply it as proof that the campaign has been performed. To ensure your full protection under the emission warranty provision, it is recommended that you have your engine serviced as soon as possible. Failure to do so could be determined as lack of proper maintenance of your engine. Please help update our records if you have sold the engine to another owner.
Federal regulation requires that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within ten days. This action is set to expire on April 1st, 2027. To learn more, confirm your eligibility and schedule a service appointment please call your local TICO certified dealer. If you have already had this recall performed, please notify TICO so we can complete reporting to proper agencies
Sincerely,
TICO Product Support
