TICO Pro-Spotter EV Dealer Certification Requirements
Purpose
Faced with an increasingly innovative and competitive market, customers are demanding more to meet their needs. The TICO EV Dealer Certification Program ensures that the TICO dealer network meets these changing market demands as battery electric technology grows in market share in the years to follow.
The objective of the EV Dealer Certification is to provide each dealer with additional resources and requirements to have the talent, tooling, and training available to support all sales and support efforts for the TICO Pro-Spotter Electric.
What is a TICO Pro-Spotter EV Certified Dealer?
A TICO Pro-Spotter EV Certified Dealer has agreed to, adopted, implemented and is sustaining a defined set of standards and requirements that leverage talent, tooling and training specific to the TICO Pro-Spotter Electric. This certification is specific to the TICO Pro-Spotter Electric with the Volvo Penta electric drivetrain, a separate certification will be required for the TICO Pro-eSpotter as the training and tooling is specifically designed for each vehicle.
What are the benefits?
Obtaining and sustaining the requirements needed to be an EV Certified TICO dealer will allow for the following benefits:
Ability to promote, quote and sell the TICO Pro-Spotter Electric.
Provide aftermarket support in the form of service and parts to TICO Electric customers.
Gain additional aftermarket business from National and Regional fleet partners.
Certification
To deliver the benefits outlined above, the Dealer must meet or exceed specific criteria and the 5 key requirements below. TICO EV Certification is based on individual dealer locations. TICO will actively work with TICO dealers to notify of EV units being placed into areas to drive certification where not yet established.
Identify EV Certification Champion
Each dealer appoints an EV Certification Champion. This appointee will be responsible for confirming the organization meets all of the necessary requirements, but also for sustaining the certification requirements. This appointee will be the primary point of contact for EV Certification updates and changes.
Training
High Voltage Technician Training
An EV Certified dealer will have a minimum of (2) high voltage trained technicians per location. (2) are required due to possibility of attrition, time off from work, and it is best practice to have (2) technicians present when performing work on a high voltage system as an added safety precaution.
Each technician will have attended both the High Voltage Safety (Commissioning/Decommissioning) training as well as the Diagnostic training in person. This training facilitated by either Volvo Penta or TICO will be documented, record kept, and a certificate provided to the technician's manager to show evidence of completion. TICO actively communicates opportunities to enroll in both classes.
Sales Training
Sales personnel must complete the “2023 Electric Dealer Sales Training” prior to actively quoting products.

Safety Equipment
All required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and tooling is listed and available for purchase at Safety Kit | TICO eStore, proof of purchase is required to complete the EV certification.
Diagnostic Tooling
All required tooling and diagnostic software are listed and available for purchase at Diagnostics | TICO eStore, proof of purchase is required to complete the EV certification.
DC Fast Charger
Dealer is to have a minimum of (1) DC Fast Charger available for customer use. The DC Fast Charger may be a mobile solution or a permanent installation at the dealership.
Parts
Dealer is to have in stock all “Common Failure Parts” and “Preventative Maintenance Parts”. Common failure parts and preventative maintenance parts are available on TICO Edge Parts- Common Failure Parts | TICO eStore , Preventative Maintenance Parts | TICO eStore.
