Description of Procedure: Manually unlocking the air actuator on the carrier of the rear end when it is shipped locked from the factory.

Planned Labor: 1 hour

Park vehicle on flat surface, apply parking brake, and chock wheels. Proceed with the “Lock Out, Tag Out” policy.
Diagram of Procedure

Remove long bolt from storage compartment, remove short bolt and reinstall longer bolt to engage DIF lock

Identify Hardware
Long Caging Bolt
Short Caging Bolt

PROCEDURE OPTIONS

Option 1. Raise boom, safely secure and perform procedure from top.

Option 2. Perform procedure from underneath truck.

Once completed it should look like the pictures below.


BEFORE	Remove the Long Caging Bolt from the holder. Remove the Short Caging Bolt from the DIF lock.
AFTER	Install the Long Caging Bolt in the vertical position and tighten snug. Install the Short Caging Bolt that was removed, in the holder where the Long Caging Bolt was taken from and tighten snug.

BEFORE

Remove the Long Caging Bolt from the holder. Remove the Short Caging Bolt from the DIF lock.

AFTER

Install the Long Caging Bolt in the vertical position and tighten snug.

Install the Short Caging Bolt that was removed, in the holder where the Long Caging Bolt was taken from and tighten snug.
