SFN-20240116C Replace metal mesh filter

Description of Procedure: The standard metal mesh filter installed on heater box cover may not provide enough filtration to prevent small particles of dust from being pulled through the media and into the heater and evaporator coils. Replace metal mesh filter with new filter utilizing “Permatron” 3-D filter media.

Units Affected: Tractors manufactured before November 2014 with “ThemaTech” heater-A/C units.

Parts Required: Filter, Permatron, 12” x 7” x 1/4” 920050 (QTY 1)

Planned Labor: 5 minutes

Instructions:

1. Park vehicle on flat surface, apply parking brake, and chock wheels. If your company utilizes a “Lock Out, Tag Out” policy, you should employ it during this procedure.

   ---

2. Locate the metal mesh filter in dog box cover on the lower right side of cab.

3. Remove the metal screen filter from heater cover.

4. Insert new filter, 920050, into slot provide on heater cover.

5. Discard the old filter.

6. Remove “Lock Out, Tag Out” plaque.

7. Return vehicle to service.
