Description of Procedure: Enhance strength of lower cylinder supports. Add a reinforcement tab under each cylinder support.

Units Affected: TICO units built without full cross-member channel between left and right hand cylinder mount assemblies.

Parts Required: N/A

Planned Labor: 1.5 hours


Instructions:

  1. Park the vehicle on a flat surface, apply a parking brake, and chock wheels. If your company utilizes a “Lock Out, Tag Out” policy, you should employ it during this procedure.


  2. Reinforcement (TICO p/n: 121897) is to be welded at the bottom of each the left and right side cylinder supports.


  1. Prepare the affected area by removing the existing paint for adhesion of the weld


  1. The steel reinforcement support is to be located 1” from the outer edge. It is to be welded to the existing assembly with a ¼” chamfer filet weld all-round the perimeter.


  1. After welding has been completed and the assemblies are allowed to cool, re-paint the affected area


  1. Remove “Lock Out, Tag Out” plaque.


  1. Return vehicle to service.
