Description of Procedure: The transmission-mounted chassis PDC cover is not the latest fire-retardant material. Replace Chassis PDC cover.

Units Affected: All transmission mounted chassis PDCs installed before 2/1/2017.

Parts Required: Chassis PDC Cover, Rev. F, 91521 (QTY 1).

Planned Labor: 30 minutes.

Instructions:

  1. Park the vehicle on a flat surface, apply a parking brake, and chock wheels. If your company utilizes a “Lock Out, Tag Out” policy, you should employ it during this procedure.

  2. Remove the cab step grating by loosening the (4) cab step bolts. Retain the hardware for reinstallation. See Figure #1.

  1. Remove the transmission grating by loosening the (4) transmission grating mounting bolts. Retain the hardware for re-installation. See Figure #2.

  1. The chassis PDC is located in the center of the truck mounted above the transmission.

  2. Remove the non-metallic PDC cover by loosening the retaining bolt. See Figure #3.

  3. Discard the existing PDC cover and install the new PDC cover using the same hardware.

  1. Reinstall the transmission grating and then the cab step grating with the associated hardware as shown in Figure #4.

  1. Remove “Lock Out, Tag Out” plaque.

  1. Return vehicle to service.
