  2. Place top of window glass between 9” and 11” from the top rail (Figure 2).

  3. Position the driver's seat to allow access to remove the (11) Phillips head screws that mount the LH Power Window Panel to the cab wall (Figure 3).

  1. With the window panel disconnected from the window frame, reach between the panel and window and carefully disconnect the harness from the window switch (Figure 4).

  2. Once connector is disconnected, remove panel and set aside to reinstall later.

  1. Before proceeding, verification is need that the vertical side rails are NOT cracked in the highlighted area shown in Figure 5. If the vertical side rails are NOT cracked, proceed with the installation of the lower brackets on page 7. 1. Remove the (2) upper nuts, on the vertical side rail, as shown (Figure 6). Save hardware for installation later in this procedure.

  2. With the nuts removed (Figure 7) temporarily place (1) bracket (from Kit #970083) over the studs as shown (Figure 8).

  3. Repeat this for the rear vertical side rail as well. Do not reinstall nuts, at this time.

  1. Apply tape to the end of the 5/32” drill bit to a depth of 5/8”. This will be used as a guide for the depth hole needed in the cab (Figure 9).

  2. Using the bracket as a drill guide, hold the bracket in place and drill the cab to the depth marked by the tape. See Figure 10. Once drilled, insert a pea size amount of Liquid Nails into this hole. Repeat for both the forward and rear vertical side rails. NOTE, both the forward and rear vertical side rails will have the bracket to the FORWARD / FRONT side of the side rails (Figure 11).

CAUTION; on the drill bit, replace any damaged tape to ensure drilling to the correct depth and DO NOT drill through the outside fiberglass skin.

  1. From Kit 970083, use (1) stud, (1) nut and (6) flat washers (Figure 12) to drive this assembly into the previously drilled hole. Repeat for other side.

  2. Tighten the stud assembly (use caution when driving the stud to not strip-out the cab)(Figure 13). Add (1) nut and (1) flat washer (P/N 80311) and spin on by hand the full length of each stud (Figure 14).

  1. Install brackets and replace with previously removed nuts; securely retighten. Use thread locker on threads, in the area shown by the arrow (Figure 15).

  2. Install the remaining nut and flat washer (P/N 80311) and adjust the inner and outer nut to support the vertical side rail without bending the rail from top to bottom. Securely tighten both inner and outer nuts (Figure 16). Repeat for other side.

  1. Reconnect the window switch harness to the window switch (Figure 17).

  2. Reinstall the LH Power window panel. Secure with previously saved (11) screws (Figure 18).

  1. Remove “Lock Out, Tag Out” plaque.

  1. Return vehicle to service.
