Description of Procedure: Tighten the 3/8-16 hex head bolts that secure the cab shell to the cab floor

Units Affected: Any TICO 2017 series cab

Tools: •

  • Torque wrench capable of achieving 60 in-lbs. with 9/16” socket.

  • Combination wrench, 9/16”

  • 3/8” drill bit and drill

  • Blue Loctite® 242®, or equivalent.

Planned Labor: 20 Minutes

Note: Once the unit has reached Station 650-03, the cab shell should be resting on the cab floor, with the floor clamp cushion and clamp bar in position.

Instructions:

  1. Install the 3/8” mounting hardware.

  2. Working from the front and center of cab, align the clamp, cushion, shell, seal and floor (see Figure #1) and insert the 3/8 bolts into the holes of the clamp, cushion, shell, seal and floor and continue for all remaining holes.

Note: Figure #1 is a 3D cross section of the parts stack up for the front flange. The side and rear flanges are similar to the front.

  1. If the (4) front center bolts (see Figure #2) are not perpendicular to the cab floor, use the 3/8” drill bit and drill/reem through the mounting hole until these bolts can be inserted without any restrictions.

  1. On the right-hand side of the cab, the second bolt from the front, apply the thread locker to the threads of the bolt as shown in Figure #3.

  1. On the Rear Left-Hand side of the cab, add thread locker to the threads of the (2) bolts indicated in Figure #4.

  1. Torque ALL (35) 3/8” bolts to 60 in-lbs. per the pattern in Figure #5.
